About Me

I am a big believer in therapy as a tool for navigating the ups and downs and uncertainties of life. I am also a runner, a writer, a recovering IT specialist, and a former English teacher. I have spent most of my career in education, working primarily with adult learners. The one constant in my life has been therapy of some sort. I have learned so much about myself and about others, about human behavior, addictions, attachment, and self-care over the years as I have worked with counselors, therapists, and other professionals in the field.

I graduated with my Master’s degree in counseling from Antioch University, Seattle, and have lived in Bellingham since I came here to attend Western Washington University in 1981. I have two grown daughters. I love to kayak and on a sunny day that is where I prefer to be: on a lake or in the bay in my kayak. I run most mornings, a habit I began a few years ago and have grown to love.
